TARWA N-TINIRI est un groupe prodige de six jeunes artistes qui font du Desert Blues à Ouarzazate au sud-est du Maroc. Le groupe a des fans de partout dans le monde, grâce a leur talent et a l’intérêt musical croissant à travers le monde pour ce genre de musique.

Le groupe a commencé son voyage musical en 2012, d’abord avec une guitare appelée Lothar. Leur carrière internationale a débuté en 2018 lors d’un festival en Norvège, puis plus tard en France en 2019, tout en partageant la même passion et amour de composer ensemble. Depuis, ils ont participé à de nombreux festivals au Maroc. Ce fut aussi une merveilleuse expérience et un grand honneur d’être invité à jouer dans les fêtes privés et les mariages des fans.

Ils ont commencé à écrire leurs chansons avec un intérêt mutuel pour le blues du désert et ont commencé alors à planifier leur premier album. Ils ont travaillé dur parce qu’ils savaient que le moment était venu de ramener la musique et la culture amazighe à un publique international.

Quelques chansons de leur premier album «Azizdeg» sont écrites par des poètes amazighs. Les paroles traitent souvent des conditions sociales du peuple nomade, mais aussi l’amour, l’amitié et la paix. Le groupe a travaillé dur pour économiser de l’argent pour réaliser leur premier clip vidéo sur Youtube en 2017. La chanson est nommée “Taryet”, qui est jusqu’à présent leur vidéo la plus vue. 

Le groupe choisit de se pencher sur une plus grande gamme de sons et de styles, pour transmettre une variété d’émotions et de sujets, en choisissant des instruments Amazighs traditionnels dans leur musique. Pour la première fois, ils ont ajouté banjo, tam-tam, fram tambour (agnza / bendir) et naqus (frein) tambour), quelque chose que vous entendrez dans leur premier album. Ils sont le premier groupe au Maroc a mélanger le banjo au Desert Blues. Les objectifs futurs sont d’ajouter aussi amzad (rebab), guembri et plus encore.

TARWA N-TINIRI is a prodigious group of six young artists, their Desert Blues sound has given the band from ­Ouarzazate, Morocco increasing fans all over the world, a genre that has a growing ­music interest across the globe.

The band started their musical journey in 2012, first with a homemade guitar called Lohtar. Ever since they have participated in festivals throughout Morocco and shared their passion and love for making and performing music together. They started their international career at Transform festival in Norway in 2018, and later France in 2019.

They started to write their own songs, fueled by a mutual interest in Desert Blues. They worked hard on their debut album, and knew the time was right to bring back the music and culture to an international audience. Tarwa N-Tiniri is often requested to play in fans’ private parties and weddings, in the Moroccan culture, it’s a huge compliment.

Some of the songs on their debut album “Azizdeg” are written by Amazigh poets. The lyrics are about the social conditions of the nomadic people, but also love, friendship and peace. The band worked hard to save money, so they could be able to realize their first music video on Youtube in 2017. The song is called “Taryet”, which is until now their most watch video.

The band chose to lean into a wider array of sounds and styles, to convey a variety of emotions and topics, by choosing more traditional Amazigh ­instruments in their music. For the first time, they added banjo, tam tam, fram drum (agnza/bendir) and naqus (brake drum). They are the first band in ­Morocco who mixes ­banjo into desert blues genre. The future goals are to add also amzad (rebab), guembri and more.
