Originally from Casamance (natural region of the south, Senegal), more precisely in the village of Bassada. He currently lives in The Gambia at KITI near the town of Birkama. His real name is YAYA BADJI ”also known as” DJ NIAKS is an atypical musician who started deejaying in 2006 and in 2013 he started singing mainly in Diola, the language of the ethnic majority group in Casamance south of the country.
Dj Niakassi is a prolific artist and stands out for his commitment, the depth of his lyrics is due to his authenticity by addressing the afflictions of Senegal and Guinea Bissau.
He quickly became the “Youssou Ndour” of Casamance as some FANS call him. His music floods all radios, mobiles and events in Casamance and everywhere in Senegal.
If he is the new reference in terms of Afro-Casa in Casamance, he is also a young talent to discover.
