Claude Hurtubise est une pianiste, accordéoniste et autrice-compositrice-interprète colorée. En plus d’avoir donné des concerts-ateliers avec les Jeunesses musicales Canada et joué avec la Gypsy Kumbia Orchestra pour leurs résidences artistiques, sa dernière décennie fut ponctuée de nombreux voyages qui ont teinté ses créations. Dans ses compositions, elle colore son bagage jazz à la pop et aux rythmes latins. En 2014, elle rencontre les membres actuels de son groupe au Pavillon de musique de l’Université de Montréal. Depuis, ils se sont produits dans toutes les régions du Québec et ont enregistré un premier EP « Claude et sa Bande sonore » réalisé par Marc Déry. Elle a ensuite effectué une tournée en Colombie à l’hiver 2019 grâce à la bourse Lojiq. C’est également l’année où le projet a pris son nom personnel, Claude Hurtubise. Au printemps 2020, ils ont sorti la « session live » Suite Marine enregistrée et filmée au studio Mixart. Enfin, soutenus par le Conseil des arts et lettre du Canada, ils ont enregistré l’album Suivre les lucioles. Réalisé par Simon Walls, l’album de 11 chansons sortira en janvier prochain.
Claude Hurtubise is a colorful pianist, accordionist and singer-songwriter. Not only did she give workshop concerts with Jeunesses musicales Canada and playing with the Gypsy Kumbia Orchestra, her last decade was punctuated by many trips that have marked her creations. In her compositions, she colors her jazz background with pop and Latin rhythms. In 2014, she met the current members of her group at the Music Pavilion of the University of Montreal. Since then, they have performed in all regions of Quebec and have recorded a first EP “Claude et sa Bande Sonore” directed by Marc Déry. She then toured Colombia in the winter of 2019, thanks to the Lojiq scholarship. It was also the year the project was named after her, Claude Hurtubise. In the spring of 2020, they released the Suite Marine “live session” recorded and filmed at the Mixart studio. Finally, with the support of the Canada Council for the Arts and Letters, they recorded the album Suivre les lucioles, produced by Simon Walls, the 11-song album will be released in January.
